Clever caffeine: Smarter Coffee promises coffee on ‘tap’
The fully ‘smart kitchen’ may still be a sci-fi dream for most of us, but this new Smarter Coffee machine promises to make a fine smartphone-connected caffeine fix.
The Smarter Coffee machine connects to your home’s wireless internet network, allowing you to make fully WiFi-enabled joe with a few smartphone taps.
It has a grinder built in, so you can go from bean to cup without getting out of bed, and it even lets you choose how coarsely or finely you want the beans ground.
And the included ‘Smart Carafe’ means you can brew up to 12 cups at once for those lazy Sunday brunches with your pals – or perhaps if you’re feeling particularly tired.
You can choose between three different strength settings, and it’s all controlled via an app. The app also lets you set timed brewing – so you can have a fresh cup of coffee waiting for you when you wake up. You can even demand it makes you a coffee remotely – get it to do its thing while you’re on your way home from work, so you get a nice warm cup when you walk in the door.
And if you run a small office, Smarter Coffee promises to eliminate ‘who’s round is it?’ tedium. The machine can accept instructions from multiple users. So now all you have to do is convince the boss to get one in.
It comes with three coloured front panels so you can choose what looks best in your kitchen, and it works with Android (4 and up) and iOS (7 and up) phones and tablets.
Smarter Coffee is available from www.firebox.com for £179.99
